Blink Mobility Membership

Car sharing is a paid service where members have short term access to a car, allowing them to share a car with their community. Car sharing is ideal for trips around the city, providing the freedom of vehicle use without the costs and hassle of owning a personal vehicle. BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility is a membership-based subscription service, offering access to a network of shared electric vehicles 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at self-service locations throughout the city. BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility currently operates in Los Angeles with vehicles available at 40 central Los Angeles locations.

Download the Blink Mobility app from your app store (for a direct link to the app please visit: https://blinkmobility.com blink-mobility-app/). Once downloaded, click "Get Started" and begin to enter your information. BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility offers two membership types; Standard and income-qualified Community membership. Monthly membership and usage fees vary depending upon the membership type. For more details please visit the Rental Rates page or contact Customer Service for assistance.

No! You can cancel your BlueLA powered byBlink Mobility membership anytime, but we know once you start, you won't want to.

The monthly membership fees help to offset the cost of operating the program while the usage fees are associated with the actual costs of using the vehicles.

No. Everything from sign up to end rental is done through the Blink Mobility mobile app.

Standard membership approval is usually immediate but in rare cases can take up to 24 hours. Community membership approval can take 1-2 business days.

Memberships are denied for various reasons, including: driver's license status, results of motor vehicle records, open insurance claims, unpaid balance, or improper document upload. If you feel your membership denial was not warranted, you can email support@blinkmobility.wpenginepowered.com for further assistance or clarification.

Booking & Charging

Yes. You have 15 minutes from the time you start a booking to pick up the vehicle. If the vehicle is not picked up within 15 minutes, it becomes available for others to book on the app.

Call Customer Service at (888) 998.2546. ext.4 and we will help you start your charge and end your rental.

Unfortunately, at this time the maximum booking time is 12 hours so that others in the community can use the car sharing platform.

We recommend that Blink Mobility members always check for parking space availability on the mobile app prior to arriving at a station for drop-off. If all designated spaces are occupied please call customer service at (888) 998.2546 ext. 4 for further assistance.

BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility vehicles can be booked and dropped off by any BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility designated charging station. All existing and incoming station locations can be found on the BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility map, or on the mobile app. Each BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility location has 5 parking spots, each with an electric charger, where all bookings begin and end.

Yes, you are charged the drive time rate from the moment you check out the car to the moment you return it to a designated BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility station. However, we also provide rental packages for your long-term trips at discounted prices.

No. The only person allowed to drive the BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility is the member on the account. You solely are responsible for the car during your rental period.

BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility vehicles are meant to be short-term bookings and can be booked hourly or in 3 and 5 hour packages. Booking period may not exceed 12 hours and the vehicle must remain within Los Angeles County, Orange County, or Ventura County. Vehicles must be returned to a designated BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility station before the battery level reaches 15%. Battery information can be found on the dashboard display.

In the Blink Mobility app you will be able to identify cars available near you and select one for booking. Once you select the vehicle you will begin your pre-booking inspection and then be on your way!

Before driving, report the damage or cleanliness issue in the mobile app during your pre-booking inspection process. During this inspection you will be able to document the damage with photos and comments. If another vehicle is available, the app will allow you to change vehicles. If no vehicle is available, you may call customer service at (888) 998.2546 ext. 4. and we may be able to assign you a new vehicle. Do not skip the inspection process, driving away without reporting the damage or cleanliness issue may result in you being fined for the issue(s).

You will be asked to document any new damage when you end your booking in the post-booking inspection process. Member services will follow up via email with any fines due by you for the damage(s) incurred during your booking period. If the vehicle is too damaged and cannot be driven, please call Customer Service immediately at (888) 998.2546 ext. 4 to report the damage and get a tow.

First, secure the vehicle and immediately call 911 or otherwise inform the police and emergency services of any potential injuries. Second, call BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility Customer Service at (888)998.2546 ext. 4. Then, to the best of your ability, obtain information regarding witnesses, other vehicles involved and their drivers, owners and relevant insurance. Where possible, take photos of the scene of the accident and promptly provide those photos to BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility upon request, along with any papers or reports that you receive related to the incident.

No. BlueLA Powered by Blink Mobility and Blink Charging are 2 different memberships. To charge at a Blink Charger you will need a separate Blink membership and would be responsible for paying the charging fee.

No. Blink Mobility and Blink Charging are 2 different services and memberships. Blink Mobility stations are exclusive to the car sharing service and are not open to privately owned vehicles. Non-Blink Mobility vehicles parked at a Blink Mobility station run the risk of being ticketed and/or towed by the City of Los Angeles.

No, if you do not have passengers with you then you are not permitted to drive in the carpool lane, and you will be responsible for any tolls or violation fees incurred.

No. BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility cars are not equipped with FasTrak transponders. If you drive a BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility car on a toll road or in the Metro ExpressLanes, you will be responsible for the full toll amount or violation fee incurred.

Your membership only covers the charging fee for a BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility charger. If you choose to charge at another EV station, you will be responsible for paying that charging fee.

Vehicle & Operations

BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility utilizes a smart key rather than a physical key. This means you can lock/unlock and start/stop the car from the Blink Mobility mobile app on your smartphone.

Yes! BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility provides liability insurance for all members up to the State minimum limit, which will apply secondary to any personal auto insurance maintained by the member. However, if the BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility vehicle is damaged at the fault of the member, the member will be responsible for damages. Please email support@blinkmobility.wpenginepowered.com for more information.

Your trip must always begin and end at a specially designated BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility charger. During the course of your trip, however, you can stop/park the vehicle in any legal parking spot. Please note, you will be responsible for any tickets or legal infractions incurred during the booking period if you are improperly parked.

The Blink Mobility mobile app acts as your “key” for access to the vehicles and chargers. You will begin a booking with the mobile app as well as lock/unlock the vehicle, and end your booking.

If you get a ticket during your booking period, first notify BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility by sending a message through the mobile app or calling customer service at (888)998.2546 ext.4. You are responsible for payment of the ticket and have 15 days to pay it directly to the issuing authority. If you cannot pay it within that time, the ticket amount plus a $25 handling fee will be charged to your BlueLA powered by Blink Mobility account. If you find a ticket from a previous user, please place it in the driver door or glove compartment and let us know by sending a message through the app. All tickets are time-stamped; you will not be held responsible for any ticket incurred by another user at another time.

If your booking vehicle is illegally parked and consequently towed away during your booking period, first notify Blink Mobility by calling customer service at (888) 998.2546 ext. 4. All associated administrative fees and costs for retrieval of the vehicle will be charged to your Blink Mobility account.

We recommend that Blink Mobility members always check for vehicle availability on the mobile app, and book a vehicle on the mobile app prior to going to the desired departure station. If you have not started a booking and you arrive at a station with no cars available to book, you may check the mobile app for additional stations near you.

Battery information can be found on the infotainment display and in the dashboard. Please note that you are responsible for getting the car back to a charging station before the car runs out of charge.

Yes. The Chevy Bolt comfortably seats four adults. Just remember, all passengers must wear a seat belt at all times and always keep your eyes on the road.

Yes, a LATCH system is installed in the back seat of the vehicle to enable securing a child seat for safe transport of young children.

Once you enter the charge code into the charger screen to start the charge, check the following: That the charging cable is properly connected to the vehicle. If the car is properly connected, the charging station will flash green. If not, unplug the car and plug again. You should feel a slight click as the plug connects to the port. If you still have not received a notification that your booking has ended, call us at (888) 998.2546 ext 4. for assistance.

To ensure your smartphone connects to the car, you will need to enable bluetooth on your smartphone. The connection always works best if you are standing by the driver door. If you parked in an area with no reception, and are having connections issues, please walk back to where you have reception and open the Blink Mobility app then return to the vehicle to be able to unlock it. If you continue to have issues please contact Customer Service at (888) 998.2546 ext. 4 for assistance.

If you see vehicle damage prior to your booking, please be sure to document it during the pre-booking inspection process in the mobile app. During the inspection process you will be able to document the damage with photos and comments. If the damage occurs during your booking you will need to document it when you end your booking during the end-booking inspection process. If the damage is so severe that the car needs to be towed, please contact customer support at 888-998-2546 ext. 4.

No. The use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vape pens, or any other device that omits smoke or vapor is expressly prohibited inside any of our vehicles. The use of chewing tobacco or “snuff” is also prohibited. Violation of this prohibition may result in fines or revocation of membership.

Pets are only allowed in Blink Mobility vehicles if they remain in a pet carrier while in the vehicle. You may be charged a cleaning fee if there is any pet hair, mess, or damage found after your booking.
