Electric Father’s Day Activities

Father’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect opportunity to show appreciation and spend quality time with the father figures in our lives. This year, instead of the typical gifts, why not create lasting memories through exciting activities? In this blog post, we have curated a list of memorable LA experiences and unique adventures you can enjoy with your dad and family on Father’s Day. Whether he’s an adventure seeker, a food enthusiast, or a nature lover, there’s something for everyone to make this day truly special.

Free & Low-Cost Outings

If your dad enjoys the outdoors, plan a hiking day, or spend the day cycling through South LA.

Enjoy bike riding 6.2 miles of open streets in South LA with Dad this Sunday at Ciclavia. Celebrate Father’s Day and Juneteenth with this free and fun community event taking place on June 18th, 2023, from 9 am – 4 pm.

If hiking is more your speed, there are plenty of Hiking trails to choose from in Los Angeles. Here’s our top three choices:

Griffith Park– Great hiking trails here from easy to moderately difficult and you can even hike up to the Observatory where admission and public telescopes are always free!

Runyon Canyon- One of the most popular hiking parks in LA, has three main trails – Runyon Canyon Fire Road, East Ridge Trail, and Western High Way Trail – as well as other less used trails and paths.

Echo Park Lake– This park has so many activities to choose from! Pedal boats, hike the Echo Park Lake Loop, and they even offer $20 yoga on Sundays at 10am.

Did you know June 18th is also international picnic day? Why not add a picnic to your Father’s Day outing?

Local Events

Outdoors not really your thing? These two LA staples have some Father’s Day events you can enjoy!

Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival: Enjoy a jazz matinee with Dad at the Hollywood Bowl.

Petersen Automotive Museum: You know we love cars, and the Petersen Automotive Museum will be lifting the hoods on some of their most iconic vehicles for your viewing pleasure.

Food for Thought

A Father’s Day activity list isn’t complete without some food!

The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is always a great place to spend time with the family and they happen to also be hosting a Father’s Day lunch.

If dad is a big BBQ fan then you don’t want to miss the chance to make a reservation at Alta Adams BBQ Buffet in Los Angeles for 90 minutes of all you can eat barbecue buffet.

Feeling something a little nicer? Make a reservation for a Father’s Day Brunch Cruise for an elegant afternoon with family on the Marina del Rey Harbor.

Father’s Day is a time to celebrate and bond with the father figures in our lives, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. Rather than opting for traditional gifts, consider engaging in activities that cater to your dad’s interests and passions. From local adventures to culinary experiences, there are countless ways to make this Father’s Day truly electric. For a more relaxed day, consider a movie marathon, a board game session, or a shared hobby that you both enjoy.

Whatever you choose, the most important thing is to spend quality time together, showing appreciation and making lasting memories. Let’s make this Father’s Day a remarkable one that your family will cherish for years to come. Charge on!
